The Ukrainian food industry will set up new facilities and hire new employees thanks to the state order for social products. There are about 300 such enterprises.

This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal.

"The state buys ten million food sets for Ukrainians in frontline cities to distribute them to people for free. These are sets with more than ten key food products," the Cabinet's press service quoted the Prime Minister.

According to Shmygal, 100% of required cereals, pasta, oil, milk, and sugar are already purchased. Procurement of canned food, grain, bakery products, tea, coffee, and other food is ongoing. The Prime Minister stressed that Ukrainian Railways and Ukrposhta, together with the civil–military administrations, are already delivering and distributing these sets to people.

Shmygal announced that the government will soon consider and approve a dedicated loan product for retail chains to revive their cooperation with Ukrainian producers.

As reported, a fire had been extinguished at grocery warehouses near Kyiv for more than a week, where ATB, Silpo, and Fozzy Food retailers' stocks were stored. Occupiers shelled the warehouses that were completely filled and all goods had to be disposed of.

According to the head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kyiv region, there were no victims of the fire, but the damage is huge.
