Ukraine and Russia exchanged prisoners. 86 Ukrainian servicemen were released, including 15 women.

This was announced by Deputy Chief of the President’s Office Kyrylo Tymoshenko.

"They are already safe," he said.

The exchange took place by agreement of the negotiating groups of countries.

This is not the first major exchange of prisoners of war. On 24 March, 19 sailors from Snake Island and 10 other servicemen returned to Ukraine. In return, Ukraine handed over 10 captured occupiers and 11 civilian Russian sailors, whom we rescued from a sunken ship near Odessa.

Prior to that, Ukraine exchanged the captured mayor of Melitopol for conscripts sent by Russia to the war.
