Prime Minister of Lithuania Ingrida Šimonytė confirmed no import of Russian gas.

"From now on Lithuania won't be consuming a single cubic meter of toxic russian gas," she tweeted.

Šimonytė noted that Lithuania is the first EU country to refuse russian gas imports.

Based on the data of the Lithuanian gas transmission system, a local edition published that Lithuania fully suspends russian gas imports. On 2 April 2022 the import of Russian gas for Lithuania's needs through the Lithuanian-Belarusian interconnection was equal to 0 MWh

As of now, all Lithuanian gas demand is satisfied through the Klaipeda liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal which are planned to be enough for all customers

If necessary, gas can also be delivered to Lithuania via the gas link with Latvia, and from 1 May – through the gas link with Poland.

Ukraine urges the West to impose an embargo on Russian oil and gas. It is important that the invader have no money to finance the murder of Ukrainians during Russia's war against Ukraine.
