EU to slap fifth package of sanctions on Russia shortly - Kuleba

The European Union will soon impose a fifth package of sanctions against russia for its military aggression against Ukraine.

This was announced by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba on Facebook.

"Russia's horrific war crimes in Bucha and other liberated towns and villages are appalling. But the rage is gone. There is only a determination to force these animals take responsibility and hurt them - morally, physically and economically,” he wrote. "As for the latter, the sanctions rink will continue to roll the russian economy into asphalt"

According to the Minister, Ukraine is working with partners on two tasks: closing the way for Russia to circumvent existing sanctions and organizing new packages of tough sanctions.

«The EU's fifth sanctions package will soon be launched to close the loopholes to avoid sanctions. In fact, the russian economy was hit four times, forcing moscow to urgently seek a way out. The fifth package will be inflicted on the loopholes and bypasses they have taken,” Dmytro Kuleba said. “International sanctions have already specifically undermined a number of sectors of russia's military-industrial complex. Without imported components and technologies, the russians have already had problems with electronics, chips, some sniper rifles, some missile and artillery and mortar control. We will actively develop success in this area”.

The Foreign Minister also said that Ukraine expects more decisive action from partner countries.

“The sacred sanctions trinity that will finally stop russia's military machine are: the rejection of russian oil, gas and coal; closure of world ports for russian ships and goods; disconnection of all russian banks from SWIFT” Dmytro Kuleba noted

It will be recalled that the Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki called on the Council of the European Union to confiscate all assets of russian oligarchs and radically abandon russian energy resources.
