The Chief Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense has published documents that show the occupiers' past intentions to seize Kyiv.

In particular, the group of Russian troops "Center", which operated in the Chernihiv and Sumy areas, was tasked to capture the left bank of the capital of Ukraine, according to the Telegram of Chief Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense.

The intelligence officers published a combat order to the commander of the Russian 96th Separate Reconnaissance Brigade, which he received from the Staff of the 1st Tank Army of the Western Military District.

"The document defined the stages of the offensive and the tasks for the brigade personnel," the Ukrainian intelligence officers said.

The file with Russian plans contained data on Ukrainian positions relevant at that time and tasks for Russians how to conduct reconnaissance in Ukraine. The occupiers were to carry out these tasks by February 23, the day before the full-scale invasion.
