Iryna Vereshchuk, the Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, appealed to the military-political leadership of russia due to the escalation of the situation in Mariupol with a call to make a humanitarian corridor for the evacuation of civilians. This is stated in the press service of the ministry.

"We demand the opening of a humanitarian corridor from Mariupol to Berdiansk for civilians. Separately, we demand an urgent humanitarian corridor from the territory of the Azovstal plant for women, children, and other civilians," - said Vereshchuk.

According to her, refusal to open these humanitarian corridors will in the future be the basis for bringing all involved persons to criminal liability for war crimes.

Earlier, in the territory of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol, there are many civilians, including women and children. In total, about 100 thousand people remain in the city.

Mariupol has been in full surroundings since early March. The battles for the city do not cease. On April 15, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the leaders of the power bloc about Mariupol. And the Commander of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade, Major Serhii Volyna called on the authorities to de-block Mariupol as soon as possible either by military or political means.

According to the Head of State, there are now several circles of occupation in Mariupol and the enemy forces are six times outnumbered by the number of Ukrainian defenders. According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the destruction of our military in Mariupol will put an end to negotiations with the russian federation.
