The occupying authorities in Crimea plan to create a recreation area on the territory of an ancient Muslim cemetery in Bakhchysarai.

The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Lyudmyla Denisova, announced it.

"Already in February, construction equipment entered the territory of the ancient graveyard Sauskan, also called Khan's. Crimean Tatars continue to fight for their values and write letters to the occupying authorities demanding to stop construction but to no avail. The citizens of Ukraine demand to stop earthworks on setting up the park urgently and prohibit the use of the cemetery as an entertainment area, as this contradicts the religion and traditions of the Crimean Tatars," Denisova noted.

In February, the russian occupiers started destroying Moynaksky park in Yevpatoria and damaged the building of the historical Khan's palace.
