UkrOboronProm has begun work on a program to develop the defense industry, which provides for the re-equipment of the Armed Forces with the latest foreign weapons.
"The concern together with foreign manufacturers of armaments and military equipment is already working on the establishment of service and repair centers for the main range of equipment to be supplied to Ukraine, and later - the organization of licensed production of new weapons and equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine." - noted in UkrOboronProm.
According to the general director of the concern Yuri Gusev, the program of development of the defense industry "is based on the rearmament of the Armed Forces with the latest foreign weapons".
"Thus, the defense-industrial complex should become the core of Ukraine's developed economy," Gusev added.
The program is being worked on by the state concern, state authorities, as well as the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, people's deputies and the National Academy of Sciences.
