Yesterday in the town of Volnovakha in the Donetsk region, the occupiers opened the “Teremok” kindergarten No. 8.
Lyudmyla Denysova, Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, informed about this.
A "holiday" program was held for children.
Such "demonstrations" are aimed at imagining a peaceful life, while Volnovakha is in a dangerous zone and close to the line of hostilities. The territory of the city is constantly under shelling, "she said.
Denysova mentioned that the occupation authorities deliberately neglect the safety of children.
"Such actions of the occupiers are a violation of the provisions of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Article 6 of the Convention stipulates that the Parties shall recognize that every child has the right to life. Article 38 of the Convention stipulates that the Parties are obliged to take all possible measures to ensure the protection and care of children affected by the armed conflict, ”the Ombudsman added.
She appealed to the UN Commission for Human Rights Violations during the war with Russia to take this fact into account.
To remind, Ms. Denysova reported before that 1889 Ukrainian children disappeared as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.
