Withdrawal of russia's frozen foreign exchange reserves in favor of Ukraine, proposed by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, would be a path to justice.
This was stated by the adviser to the head of the President's Office Mykhailo Podoliak.
“Destroyed infrastructure, destroyed cities - someone has to pay for it. russia, by selling raw materials to the European Union, has been accumulating reserves for years to finance mass killings. The proposal of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrel to freeze the assets of the Central Bank [russia - ed.] in favor of Ukraine is a way to restore justice," Podoliak wrote on Twitter.
The head of European diplomacy considers it a logical step to do the same with russian assets as the United States did with the Afghan central bank after the transfer the Taliban seized the power. In the case of Afghanistan, the United States plans to use part of the frozen $ 3.5bn for humanitarian aid to the Afghan people, and part for lawsuits related to the terrorism of Islamic militants.
