Germany will support Ukraine with weapons, promote the introduction of new anti-Russian sanctions in the world and make decisions that will affect the Russian economy.
Support for Ukrainians will be not only financial, Robert Habeck, German Economy Minister, said at a briefing with Dmytro Kuleba, Ukrainian Minister for Foreign Affairs.
"We are willing to rebuild Ukraine even better than it was," he said.
Mr. Habeck added that the strength of the Ukrainian resistance became obvious after the first weeks of the war. He also noted that Ukraine and Germany share common European values.
"We expect Ukraine to fulfill all the conditions (to join the EU. - Ed.), We will do it slowly, we have the rules of joining the EU. But this way should be completed. There are countries that have been waiting a long time to join the EU , and it is inadmissible that we gave promises and didn't fulfill them ", - the Minister said.
Mr. Habeck pointed out that Putin should not win the war but the Ukrainians will determine what exactly will be the victory.
To remind, Annalena Baerbock, German Minister for Foreign Affairs, visited Ukraine this week. She said her country would provide support in revealing Russian war crimes.
Training of the Ukrainian soldiers in using 155-mm self-propelled howitzers Panzerhaubitze 2000 has recently started in Germany. Earlier the media reported that Germany and the Netherlands wanted to send a total of twelve self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine, seven of them from Germany. This artillery can hit targets at a distance of up to 40 kilometers. Germany is also going to provide military training and ammunition.
