The goal of the second stage of russia's war plan in Ukraine remains unchanged - the occupation of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. In the Donetsk direction, the enemy is trying to advance along the entire line of contact, firing artillery, mortars and with the support of aircraft.
This was announced at a briefing in Media Center Ukraine by Brigadier General, Deputy Chief of the Main Operations Department of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksiy Gromov.
Active hostilities are currently underway in the Severodonetsk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Kurakhiv areas.
"The main efforts are focused on the offensive to dismember and surround the units of the Allied Forces in the Lysychansk and Severodonetsk districts. The enemy is gradually losing its offensive capabilities. In addition, he does not abandon attempts to attack Slavyansk," he said.
In the Mariupol direction, the intensity of hostilities has been reduced. The evacuation of our heroes is underway.
Since May 5, 23 settlements have been liberated in the Kharkiv direction by the actions of our troops. Russia has stepped up its fire and is trying to contain the offensive of our troops and the border. The shelling of Sumy and Chernihiv regions continues to inflict losses on us and distract us from the main directions.
There are no signs of formation groups in Rivne and Zhytomyr directions, the threat of missile strikes from the territory of Belarus remains.
"According to our data, the enemy has begun engineering measures at the Zibrovka airfield (Gomel region). In the future, the russian military base in Belarus might be used," Gromov said.
Territorial defense capabilities are being tested in Brest and Grodno regions. At one landfill they trained to build a pontoon crossing and cross the river.
"Apparently, the Belarusians are troubled by the laurels of the battalion tactical group 74 of the separate motorized infantry brigade of the russian armed forces, which crossed the Seversky Donets River and suffered significant losses," Gromov added.
The situation near Transnistria is steadily tense. There is no mass movement of personnel and equipment.
On the Nikolaev direction russians opened fire, but there were no active fights. The main efforts are on reconnaissance and maintenance of the occupied frontiers.
Russian ships continue to threaten to strike targets deep in our territory. To mimic the threat of a naval landing, operations are being carried out in the area of Cape Tarkhankut and in the north-western part of the Black Sea.
Since May 10, the enemy's armed forces have carried out 63 missile strikes. The main goals are facilities in Lviv, Khmelnytsky, Chernihiv, Sumy, Odesa and Mykolayiv regions. That is, where there is no fighting.
In Crimea, the occupiers continue to restore the combat effectiveness of their units.
At the same time, during the full-scale war in russia, 12 cases of arson of military enlistment offices were recorded, including five of them last week in Rostov and Ryazan regions, Volgograd and Omsk.
