Currently, there is no environmental hazard around Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. Information about the excess radiation background is not received, and the situation at the nuclear power plant is conditionally stable.
This was announced at a briefing by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, Ruslan Strilets, reports the correspondent reports of LB.ua.
"About Zaporizhzhia NPP... I can only say one thing. Today we receive data on the state of the radiation background impact on the environment. But we do not have excess or any signals that can cause danger. Therefore, the situation can be considered conditionally stable," - he said.
Strilets stressed that the issue of the safety of chemical enterprises in Ukraine is equally important.
"The facts of shell hits on chemical objects are documented. As soon as we had the opportunity, our specialists went to the places and recorded losses and possible impacts. Sumykhimprom was shelled by the rashist missile. But there, the situation was quickly localized and had no impact on people. Because there was an appropriate distance. Today, there is no negative impact with a long-term character," - the Minister said.
Earlier, Energoatom reported that russian troops dug trenches along the ZNPP, also there are bags of sand, concrete blocks, and other engineering barriers.
In April, the russian federation released three missiles that could target the South Ukrainian nuclear reactor. Missiles flew from Belarus towards Mykolaiv. A week after this shoot, two more russian cruise missiles flew over Zaporizhzhia NPP.
