President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a meeting with National Security Advisor to the President of the United States Jake Sullivan who is on a visit to Ukraine.
Zelenskyy thanked Sullivan for the support to our country at a difficult time, when Russia carried out a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Ukrainian presidential website reports.
The parties discussed the issues of further support for Ukraine from the USA for the defence and liberation of its territory from the occupiers, increasing the capabilities of our state to protect critical infrastructure, financial and humanitarian support, strengthening sanctions against the aggressor state of the Russian Federation, and consolidating international support for Ukraine.
Zelenskyy presented Sullivan with the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise of the II degree for his significant personal contribution to strengthening interstate cooperation, and support for the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The president noted that he was very pleased to present this order to Sullivan.
The Advisor to the US President thanked the Ukrainian president for the high award and said that it was an honour for him to receive it.
Zelenskyy also awarded Senior Director for Europe at the US.National Security Council Amanda Sloat with the Order of Merit of the III degree.
