It is not true that Iran gave Russia drones before the war in Ukraine started, the US Special Envoy for Iran Robert Malley stated in his Twitter.
According to Malley, the supplies were actually made during the war.
"Also not true-Iran didn’t give a limited number of drones before the war. They transferred dozens just this summer and have military personnel in occupied Ukraine helping Russia use them [drones - Ed.] against Ukrainian civilians," the message reads.
Malley added that Iran, confronted with this evidence, "needs a new policy, not a new story."
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said it had informed Iran through diplomatic channels about the consequences of Tehran sending Russians new weapons - attack drones and ballistic missiles.
