NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the Alliance will not abandon its support for Ukraine. At the summit of foreign ministers in Bucharest, he called on allies to provide Kyiv with more winter support, Reuters reports.
"NATO will continue to stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes. We will not back down," Stoltenberg said.
He added that "the main focus is supporting Ukraine and ensuring President [Putin] doesn't win."
NATO Secretary General stressed that the only way to get the right conditions for starting negotiations with Russia is Ukraine's advance on the battlefield.
NATO foreign ministers will spend two days discussing the increase of military assistance to Ukraine, in particular air defence systems and ammunition, but also non-lethal assistance.
