More than 1.5 billion dollars will be recovered from the Russian Federation in favor of the Ukrainian state bank. This decision was made by the French Court of Cassation, the Ministry of Reintegration reported on Telegram.
"The French Court of Cassation upheld the decision of the Arbitration Court in Paris, according to which the Russian Federation is obliged to compensate the losses of Oschadbank caused as a result of the annexation of the Ukrainian Crimea. Thus, the state bank received the final court victory in the case against the aggressor country," the statement said.
The amount payable under the arbitration award, including interest, is $ 1.5 billion.
"This is the first victory of a state-owned company against the Russian Federation regarding the losses caused by the temporary occupation of Ukrainian territories," the Ministry of Reintegration noted.
The Ministry added that such a decision of the international court initiates the judicial practice of collecting compensation from the aggressor in favor of other affected Ukrainian companies.
