The Ukrainian Defence Ministry and the Turkish company Baykar Marina have signed an agreement on the construction of a service centre for the repair and maintenance of unmanned aerial vehicles in Ukraine.

The deal was signed on 31 July as a follow-up to the framework agreement between Ukraine and Turkey on cooperation in hi-tech, aviation and space industries.

"We are moving forward and it is important for us to create our own base in Ukraine to service drones. This joint project will lay the foundation for our systematic work. Special thanks to Baykar for their contribution to building up the capacity of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression," said Kostyantyn Vashchenko, State Secretary of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry.
