A group of young men attacked three Ukrainian teenagers in Edinburgh, Scotland. The police claim that the attack had an ethnic component, reports the BBC.
"The boys, two aged 13 and one aged 15, were hurt after they were approached by a group of eight youths in dark clothing on Sunday night," the publication states.
The attack took place in Niddrie Mains Road. One of the 13-year-olds was stabbed, the other left with lacerations to his ear, and the 15-year-old was punched.
Police are reviewing CCTV in an effort to trace those responsible for the attack. Also they have appealed for help from potential witnesses to the incident which happened at about 20:30.
"I know there were members of the public in the area at the time of the attack and I am asking them to contact us with any information they may have," said Detective Keith Fairbairn.
The injured boys were treated in hospital and the incident was reported to police on Monday.
On 26 August, an unknown man attacked Ukrainian children in Germany. He complained that the children spoke Ukrainian instead of Russian. The attacker pulled the girl's hair and then grabbed the 10-year-old boy and threw him into the canal. The boy hit the iron beams attached to the bridge. As a result, he sustained injuries to his head and left foot.
