The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has decided to reorganise the National Aviation University. The relevant document is available to LB.ua.

It is now proposed to spin off the legal entity NAU and create two higher education institutions: Kyiv Aviation Institute and the State Flight Academy (Kropyvnytskyy). These two institutions are to become key centers for the development of the aviation industry in Ukraine, in particular for pilot training, development of new designs and commissioning of innovative UAVs, and support of the domestic military industry.

According to our sources in the ministry, students who are already studying at the NAU will continue their studies. Teachers will continue to work under the same conditions.

"The decision to reorganise NAU was made because of the low efficiency of the institution and its management. Not a single UAV has been developed there since the start of the full-scale invasion," explained the source from the Ministry of Education and Science. - "Development and investment in an institution with such leadership is out of the question.

This decision of the Ministry of Education should now be considered by the Cabinet of Ministers.

In the summer, Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyy signed an order reprimanding the rector of the National Academy of Sciences, Maksym Lutskyy.

The minister noted that Lutsky failed to provide information in his annual report on the level of achievement of the institution's performance targets set out in the contract. This is a violation of the law on education and the requirements of the contract.
