Ihor Taburets, head of the Cherkasy regional military administration, and Ihor Liski, chairman of the supervisory board at EFI Group, have signed a memorandum of understanding at the Cherkasy International Forum to promote the region's industrial development.
The construction of a deep processing facility will begin next year.
"We all know that Cherkasy Region is an agricultural region, but this is not enough," said the head of the region. "We need to go further and develop processing. First of all, deep processing. I think everyone understands the significance of this step and the obvious benefits both in terms of income and logistics. This spring, we had a working meeting with EFI Group representatives to discuss their development plans and investment interests in the region. We inspected Beehive's production facilities and discussed their readiness to open additional business projects in Cherkasy Region. And today we have signed a memorandum of cooperation on the construction of a new production facility," said Taburets.
The region is committed to deep processing and making production more technologically advanced.
"I believe that Ukraine has great opportunities for development in many industries. But the most important one should be processing, creating value-added products. As an investment company with many years of experience in working with investment projects, we are guided by a set of factors when choosing a region for our next production facility. These include logistical advantages, the raw material market, and human potential. However, relations with the regional authorities and the community where we plan to develop are equally important. We have found all the necessary conditions for this in Cherkasy Region. Here we have full understanding and support. And this was a decisive factor in choosing the plant construction site," Liski noted.
The Cherkasy International Economic Forum 2023 has become a platform for market experts, new challenges in the economy, business and government cooperation, and the post-war reintegration of veterans into society. The cooperation between business, government and the public results in new enterprises that bring millions in processing investments, creates hundreds of jobs and generates taxes to the community budget.
