During the day, Russians fired 82 times at Kherson Region, launching 356 shells from mortars, artillery, Hrad, tanks, UAVs and aircraft. 16 people were wounded, including four children.
The enemy fired 36 shells at Kherson. Air defence forces shot down six Shahed drones over the de-occupied part of the Region, the head of the RMA, Oleksandr Prokudin, said on Telegram.
"The Russian military hit residential areas of the Region's settlements; a critical infrastructure facility and a vocational education institution in Kherson district; a preschool, a medical facility, a post office and a boat station in Kherson," the statement said.
The regional prosecutor's office added that a pre-trial investigation has been launched in criminal proceedings over violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
"According to the investigation, on 19 December 2023, at around 22:00, the Russian armed forces shelled the civilian infrastructure of Kherson with unmanned aerial vehicles," the statement said.
