Ukraine has received the last €1.5bn of this year's €18bn aid package. This was announced by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
"Today we are disbursing the last €1.5 billion of our €18 billion support package for 2023 to Ukraine. We must find a deal to continue to provide Ukraine with the support it needs to recover, rebuild and reform. We stand by our neighbour, friend and future member," she wrote.

For his part, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal thanked Ursula von der Leyen and the leaders of EU member states for their assistance and expressed hope for further assistance.
"Ukraine receives unprecedented financial support from the EU in its fight against the aggressor. Today, the last tranche of €1.5bn of the €18bn macro-financial assistance package has been disbursed. I hope for further unwavering assistance from the EU! I am grateful to Ursula von der Leyen, Valdis Dombrovskis and the leaders of the EU member states for the support you continue to provide us in difficult times," the Prime Minister wrote.
The EU will discuss €50 billion for Ukraine at a summit on 1 February. The event will focus on the mid-term review of the EU budget, including the allocation of multi-year assistance to our country.
