During the morning's massive Russian missile attack on Ukraine, the wreckage of a Russian missile fell near the US Embassy in Kyiv. Fortunately, no one was injured in the area. This was reported by the interim head of the Shevchenkivskyy District State Administration, Oleksandr Popovtsev, during a telethon.

"Speaking about Shevchenkivskyy district, today we have one epicentre in the area of Dorohozhychy metro station-Teliha Street. The fragments of the downed rocket fell into the park area, fortunately, no one was injured. There are broken windows in about ten houses. We also have small fragments of missiles in the area of the US Embassy," said Popovtsev.

US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink reacted to the massive missile attack and called for continued support for Ukraine in its fight against Russia.

"Putin is celebrating 2024 by firing missiles at Kyiv and across the country as millions of Ukrainians once again seek refuge in the cold. Loud explosions were heard in Kyiv this morning. It is crucial to support Ukraine now to stop Putin," she said on the X
