Ukraine’s air defence downs 11 out of 13 Russia-launched Shaheds, two X-59 missiles

The Russians attacked from Voronezh and Kursk Regions, as well as from the temporarily occupied territories. 

On the night of 27 February 2024, Russian army attacked with Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from Voronezh Region, four X-59 guided missiles, one X-31P anti-radar missile from the occupied territories of Kherson and Donetsk Regions, and 13 Shahed-type attack drones (launch areas of Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk Region of Russia). This was reported by the Air Force Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force, mobile fire groups and electronic warfare equipment of the Defence Forces were involved in repelling the air attack.

As a result of combat operations, air defence destroyed two X-59 guided missiles and 11 Shaheds in Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Khmelnytskyy and Kirovohrad Regions.
