The United States will provide Ukraine with a $2bn aid package, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has announced.

"We will provide an additional two billion dollars in foreign military financing for Ukraine," said Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

He added that the money will be invested in the first fund of its kind - the Defence Enterprise Fund. The fund will have three components. The first will be to help Ukraine acquire what it needs. The second is to invest in Ukraine's military-industrial complex so that this industry can be strengthened and Ukraine can produce more weapons for itself and for others. The third is financing the purchase of weapons not only from the United States but also from other partners.

Recently, US President Joe Biden signed an executive order to provide $400 million in aid to Ukraine. According to the US Department of Defence, the aid package includes additional ammunition for the Patriot system, additional ammunition for the NASAMS system, Stinger missiles, equipment for integrating Western launchers, missiles and radars with Ukrainian systems, additional HIMARS and ammunition, and 155mm and 105mm artillery shells.

Earlier, the United States allocated $61 billion in aid to Ukraine.
