Nine people were injured in a nighttime Russian air strike in Sumy. Firefighting operations are underway.
This was reported by the Prosecutor's Office of Sumy Region. The Russians hit a company that makes packaging for baby food, as well as juices and household chemicals, the Prosecutor General's Office said.
On 30 August 2024, at about 01:30 a.m., using methods of warfare prohibited by international law, Russians launched an air strike on an enterprise in Sumy.
According to preliminary data, nine people were wounded in the attack.
Prosecutors, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, are documenting the consequences of the shelling.
"Under the procedural guidance of the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation is being conducted into the violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the prosecutor's office said.
Earlier, the RMA reported that Russia had targeted civilian infrastructure and advised people to close the windows tightly and not to go outside.
