US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin said during a press conference at Ramstein airbase in Germany that Denmark had announced about $115 million to support Ukraine, Interfax Ukraine reports.
"We continue to see impressive new commitments of security assistance. Just look at Denmark's announcement of short-term and long-term support for Ukraine in the amount of about $115 million," Austin said.
Denmark's support includes the purchase of new military equipment through the Ukrainian defence industry.
In addition, Norway will provide Ukraine with "defence technology through Norwegian industry to support the production of 155mm shells in Ukraine".
"This will further enhance Ukraine's ability to produce modern artillery ammunition at home," the Pentagon chief said.
According to the Pentagon chief, the partners are working with Ukraine "to create a strong structure for long-term support". "So we are confident that we are building the right structure to help Ukraine succeed in the weeks, months and years ahead," Austin said.
