Due to the massive shelling, 260,000 residents in the north of Donetsk Region will be left without water for an indefinite period.
This was reported on the afternoon of 3 October by the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Vadym Filashkin.
‘The north of Donetsk Region will be left without water supply for an indefinite period. Slovyansk, Kramatorsk, Druzhkivka, Kostyantynivka and nearby settlements, where about 260,000 people live, will have problems with water supply due to massive enemy shelling,’ Filashkin wrote.
He noted that on 28 September, the Russians critically damaged 2 facilities of Water of Donbass. Given the large amount of damage, there is no technical possibility to restore the equipment.
According to him, the RMA, together with local authorities, is working to establish alternative water supply options. Currently, industrial water is being temporarily supplied from the river intake of Water of Donbass.
