Naftogaz Group, together with the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy, Housing and Utilities, initiated the Solar Energy for Hospitals project, which equips medical facilities with solar power plants. This was reported by the Group's press service.
The project provides funding for the construction of solar power plants on the roofs of hospitals in the Regions where the Group's companies operate.
"Healthcare facilities should be energy self-sufficient and provide themselves with electricity on their own. Sometimes people's lives depend on the availability of stable energy supply. We have already installed solar power plants on the roofs of medical institutions in Kharkiv, Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk Regions," said Oleksiy Chernyshov, CEO of Naftogaz Group.
According to him, under the programme, nine hospitals will receive reliable backup power sources for possible power outages.
