The heating season is well underway in Ukrainian cities. Warm homes are the result of coordinated interaction and teamwork of all employees of the energy sector, said Oleksiy Chernyshov, CEO of Naftogaz Group.

He noted that despite all the attacks on gas production facilities and massive shelling of underground storage facilities in April-August this year, Naftogaz Group has accumulated enough gas to ensure a stable passage through the autumn-winter period of 2024/2025.

"Since the beginning of the year, the Group's companies - Ukrgasvydobuvannya and Ukrnafta - have produced more than 7% more gas than in the same period last year. In addition, Ukrnafta managed to resume gas production at the Sakhalin field," said Oleksiy Chernyshov.

In addition, he said, the company continues to purchase gas on the domestic market through the Ukrainian Energy Exchange.

During the 2023/2024 heating season, Ukraine used 6.7 bcm of gas from Ukrtransgaz's underground storage facilities. This year, Naftogaz Group expects approximately the same figures.

Oleksiy Chernyshov also said that Naftogaz has signed gas supply agreements with all district heating companies that have submitted relevant applications.

"At the same time, we continue to supply gas on PSO terms, so gas prices for district heating companies, electricity producers and households will remain unchanged until the end of April 2025," he said.

The Head of Naftogaz added that Gas Networks specialists ensure gas distribution and carry out maintenance of networks in apartment buildings to ensure safe and uninterrupted gas supply.
