Ukraine is continuing to deal with the consequences of Russia's attack on Ukraine's energy system on 17 November.
According to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, power engineers are repairing damaged equipment around the clock.
'We have managed to restore electricity, heat and water supply to residents of Vinnytsya, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv and Rivne Regions. Currently, about 220,000 customers in Odesa Region, where the situation is the most difficult, and Dnipropetrovsk Region remain without electricity supply,’ the Prime Minister said.
Water supply is being restored in Odesa. The city's water pumping stations have already been powered up and industrial water has been supplied. We are also restoring centralised heating, and have provided generators for important social facilities.
According to Shmyhal, we have set up resilience points where people can recharge and get access to the essentials.
‘Preparations for this winter have been long. The government and local authorities have a plan of action for different scenarios. We also continue to develop decentralised generation and encourage people and businesses to switch to autonomous power supply to remain energy resilient even despite the Russian terror,’ the Prime Minister added.
