Seven European countries have agreed to step up their support for Ukraine.
This is stated in a joint statement by the heads of government of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Norway, Poland and Sweden.
‘Our countries are the largest per capita contributors of military aid to Ukraine, and our support will not weaken. Ukraine must overcome Russia's aggression and secure a comprehensive, just and lasting peace,’ the document says.
The heads of government agreed to increase support for Ukraine, including the Ukrainian defence industry, in the coming months and to invest in more ammunition for Ukraine.
‘We support the Ukrainian Victory Plan. We are committed to a comprehensive, just and lasting peace for Ukraine and its full European and Euro-Atlantic integration,’ the heads of government stressed.
They stressed that Russia remains the most significant and direct threat to our security in the long term.
The statement also says that the countries will ensure Russia's full international accountability for the crime of aggression, expanding sanctions against Russia and those who facilitate Russia's aggression.
