Murder in the White House, Visconti remake and new Marvel: 9 TV shows in March

The spring TV series season will be marked by thriller suspense with intricate criminal and detective puzzles, and only mid-March will bring us exquisite costume dramas, which, however, will also have thrilling plot twists and an electrifying atmosphere.

Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue

When: 2 March

Where: MGM+.

A plane crashes over Mexico. Nine passengers survive and find themselves in the middle of the jungle. But now death is taking them one by one. The heroes have to figure out what caused the crash and who the killer is among them.

Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue is another variation of the classic detective story created by Agatha Christie, when a suspect is searched for in an isolated room. However, the showrunner work of one of the greatest masters of the modern British detective, Anthony Horowitz, turns a long-established detective scheme into an exciting adventure series where the investigation of a murder borders on survival in the wild.

Daredevil: Born Again

When: 4 March

Where: Disney+.

Mouse Streaming continues to explore the Marvel universe by creating a nine-episode show about a blind lawyer from New York's Hell's Kitchen, Matt Murdock, better known as Daredevil.

The new series will be part of the fifth phase of the global Marvel Cinematic Universe, with which Kevin Feige and Ryan Reynolds have been trying to save the infinitely overblown superhero comic book film genre. It is noteworthy that the reborn Daredevil has no change in the lead actor, Charlie Cox, who previously played Matt Murdock in the Netflix web series Daredevil and has also made cameos in several other Marvel superhero films. We will know how successful the new Marvel project will be in early March.

Deli Boys

When: 6 March

Where: Hulu and Disney+.

The searing curry-like blend of crime black comedy and sitcom is hitting the streaming charts after its Sundance film festival premiere.

Two brothers from a family of Pakistani migrants suddenly lose their father and find out that all his life he was not just a shopkeeper, but also a street mafia boss. Now the brothers will have to not only find their father's killer, but also find their place in this complex and bizarre immigrant mafia system.

The ten-episode show promises a whirlwind of criminal black humour combined with the peculiarities of Indo-Pakistani culture in the United States.

Paradis City

When: 7 March

Where: Prime

In a Sweden of the near future, migrants live in concrete-fenced neighbourhoods. In the middle of one of them, the highly controversial Minister of the Interior disappears. To find and rescue the minister, the Swedish police engage a former migrant and MMA fighter who is facing life in prison.

The appearance of a Swedish detective story with action elements on Prime is extremely unexpected. The Scandinavian TV market is a kind of thing in itself, producing dozens of detective TV series for the domestic market, of which only a few become popular (like the Danish The Bridge, the Finnish Bordertown or the Icelandic Trapped). A sub-genre has even emerged for this type of film and TV series - Nordic or Scandinavian noir.

The Leopard

When: 9 March

Where: Netflix

In 1963, the prominent Italian director Luchino Visconti made a large-scale historical costume epic called Leopard, which told the story of a turning point in Italian history called the Risorgimento, when during the nineteenth century the fragmented Italian principalities were united into one state. Visconti's film told the story of the world of Italian nobles who realised that they were living out their last years in luxury and beauty. Allen Delon played one of the main roles in the film, and this is one of those images that has become iconic for the actor, along with Jérôme Castel from Le Samuraï and Mr Ripley from Purple Noon (French: Plein soleil).

In 2025, Netflix is re-releasing the story of The Leopard in the format of an equally luxurious and dressed-up historical series. All the same intrigues, balls, betrayals and love among Italian nobles who are so afraid of losing their status.

Happy Face

When: 20 March

Where: Paramount+.

Serial killer Keith Jesperson was active in the United States in the early 1990s. He murdered women because of his own misogyny, and supported his confessions with emoticons, which earned him the nickname Happy Face.

The new series from Paramount+ will not only tell the story of Jesperson's crimes 30 years ago, but also reveal the story of his daughter. In 2022, she claimed that her father had access to the internet and that she was trying to find out whether other people had been innocently convicted of his crimes.

The Residence

When: 20 March

Where: Netflix

Also on 20 March, Netflix will release an unexpected political detective series The Residence from showrunner Shonda Rhimes, who has already gained fame for such projects as Bridgerton, Scandal, and Grey's Anatomy.

The new series is a black detective comedy about two eccentric detectives investigating a mysterious murder in the White House. The new show from Rhimes is inspired by the 1960s romantic detective film Charade, where Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant investigated a mysterious murder during the Cold War.

The Wheel of Time season 3

When: 23 March

Where: Prime

The continuation of the film adaptation of Robert Jordan's fantasy series, which began in 2021. The previous seasons have already been awarded the BAFTA Award and the Saturn Award for Science Fiction and Fantasy.

In the new season, Rosamund Pike as Moiraine Damodred will continue her endless wanderings in search of the ancient warrior who once defeated the Dark One. They will find him in a completely unexpected way.

The Studio

When: 26 March

Where: Apple TV

The master comedian of the 2000s, Seth Rogen, has played into childhood dreams with a modernised version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and is launching a new ten-episode project in which he is the writer, producer and starring actor.

The Studio is an exciting comedy procedural about the film industry. The plot centres on Matt Remick, who heads the fictional Continental Studios and tries his best to save this business, which is drowning in a sea of social and economic problems. In the usual Rogan fashion, he will take on cranky artists, greedy investors, and anyone else who can be reached by his comedic talent.
