Serhiy Koretskyy has won the competition for the post of Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, Suspilne reports, citing Andriy Gerus, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Energy, Housing and Utilities.

According to Gerus, the company’s Supervisory Board voted unanimously in favour of the proposal to Serhiy Koretskyy to sign the contract.

Naftogaz has officially confirmed that Koretskyy has been elected as the new Chairman of the company’s Board. He will take up his position as Chairman of the Board of the NJSC on 14 May 2025.

Since November 2022, Naftogaz of Ukraine had been headed by Oleksiy Chernyshov, who was appointed by Parliament on 3 December as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Unity of Ukraine.

Following that, Roman Chumak — who had previously served as CEO of Naftogaz — was appointed Acting Chairman of the company’s Board.

Serhiy Koretskyy has been the Chairman of the Management Board of Ukrnafta and Ukrtatnafta since 2022. Prior to that, he held senior positions at Continuum Group, WOG and Idealist Coffee Co. Mr Koretskyy holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business Economics from Lutsk State Technical University, and a degree in Oil and Gas Production from Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University.
