On 25 March 2026, a concert by the Kyiv Chamber Choir dedicated to the outstanding Ukrainian composer Valentin Silvestrov will take place at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Rouen.
The evening’s programme will feature the composer’s landmark works — In Memoriam (2020), Psalms of David (2022), and Prayer for Ukraine.
The performance will be presented by the Kyiv Chamber Choir under the baton of Mykola Hobdych.
The event forms part of the Voyage to Ukraine cultural season, initiated by the Ukrainian Institute in collaboration with the French Institute. The project aims to strengthen cultural dialogue between Ukraine and France.
The initiative is being implemented under the patronage of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, with the support of the Ministries of Culture of Ukraine and France, in cooperation with embassies, state institutions, local communities and civil society organisations.
The organisers emphasise that the concert is not merely a musical event, but a symbolic act of Ukraine’s cultural presence in Europe — a voice of remembrance and resilience expressed through music.
