The Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez oil refinery and the Yaroslavl-3 oil pumping station have been struck, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On 18 May 2026, units of the Ukrainian Defence Forces struck the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez oil refinery in Kstovo, Nizhniy Novgorod Region, Russian Federation. A fire was reported on the refinery’s premises.
The Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez oil refinery is one of the largest oil refining enterprises in the Russian Federation. Its refining capacity is approximately 17 million tonnes of crude oil per year. The plant produces petrol, diesel and aviation fuel used to meet the needs of the Russian forces.
Also, on 19 May, the Yaroslavl-3 oil pumping station near the village of Semibratovo in Russia’s Yaroslavl Region was struck. The extent of the damage is currently being assessed.
