Russian ballistic missile strike on Dnipro leaves two dead and six injured

At around midnight on 20 May, Russian forces launched a ballistic missile attack on Dnipro, sparking a fire. The food warehouses were struck.

This was reported by the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Hanzha.

As of 7 a.m., two people are known to have been killed and six others injured.

“Five of the wounded have been hospitalised… Doctors describe the condition of three of them as serious,” Hanzha said.

A 42-year-old woman and two men aged 47 and 25 are in hospital in a serious condition. Two men aged 47 and 40 have been hospitalised with moderate injuries. A 27-year-old man will receive outpatient treatment.

Russian forces also struck other settlements in the region. In the Petrykivka community of Dniprovskyy district, a business premises was damaged. In Nikopolskyy district, the district centre, as well as the Marhanets, Pokrov and Chervonohryhorivka communities, came under attack. A business premises, a block of flats, private homes and cars were damaged.

  • On 18 May, Russian forces attacked four districts of Dnipropetrovsk Region 40 times. One person was injured. In Dnipro, the number of wounded rose to 28.
