“It is with great pleasure that we announce the publication of our first book. We are making our debut with Mykola Khvylyovyy, not only a writer we admire, but also one of the most important authors of the 20th century,” the publisher stated.

Ana Martins, co-founder of Pondos, explained that she was responsible for translating the novella My Self (Romantica).

“And here it is at last, although it has had a somewhat turbulent journey. This is the second work I have translated and the first I have edited. It is with great joy that I share the first Portuguese edition of one of his most outstanding works,” Martins wrote.

According to Martins, Pondos Publishing will focus on Ukrainian and Greek literature and may also expand its translation portfolio to include works from other countries in the Black Sea region.

The book was edited by Rosa Azevedo, illustrated by Maria Humetska and designed by Zoreslava Plakhtyna.
