Ukrainian writer, poet and literary scholar Lyudmyla Taran participated in the HEADREAD International Literary Festival in Tallinn, where one of the programme’s main events was her public conversation with poet and translator Anna Vershik, according to Chytomo.

The HEADREAD Festival took place in Tallinn from 27 to 31 May. Taran’s invitation was linked to the publication of the Estonian translation of her poetry collection Paradiisiõunad (Paradise Apples).

The collection was published late last year by Hea Lugu and translated by Katrin Välja, winner of the 2021 Estonian Cultural Endowment literary prize.

The HEADREAD Festival is one of Estonia’s best-known literary forums with a long-standing tradition. Each year, it brings together authors from various countries and showcases contemporary European literature.
