Fighters from Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence (DIU) destroyed a Russian MiG-29 at the Belbek airfield in Crimea.
This was stated in an DIU post on Telegram.
“On the night of 25–26 June, 2026, specialists from the Department of Unmanned Systems of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine attacked the Belbek airfield in temporarily occupied Crimea — as a result of the operation, a Russian MiG-29 fighter jet was destroyed,” the statement said.
In addition, with a single strike, DIU special forces also burned an airfield launch system. At the moment it was hit, the vehicle was servicing a combat aircraft of the Russian occupiers.
The Russia’s estimated losses could amount to tens of millions of dollars.
