As a result of a recent missile strike on Kharkiv, the Cathedral of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church was damaged.

The cathedral parish reported this on Facebook.

The blast wave and shrapnel damaged the church’s windows, as well as the surrounding grounds and premises. None of the parishioners were injured.

The Cathedral of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker is the main church of the Kharkiv Exarchate of the UGCC. Its construction began in the early 2000s. The cornerstone of the future cathedral was consecrated by the then head of the UGCC, His Beatitude Lubomyr Husar.

  • The day before, Russia shelled Kharkiv’s Shevchenkivskyy district, with high-rise buildings hit. In total, more than 10 buildings were damaged. One person was injured in the occupiers’ attack and was given the necessary medical assistance.
