Yesterday, 31 August, the Russian army carried out a missile-and-drone strike on Naftogaz’s Odesa combined heat and power plant. The rubble is now being cleared.

Naftogaz reported this.

“Last night, Russia attacked the Naftogaz Group’s Odesa CHP plant with missiles and drones. Some of the main and auxiliary equipment has been damaged, and clearance of the rubble is ongoing,” they said.

The condition of the plant and the consequences of the attack will be assessed later. The company is coordinating its actions with all relevant services and the local authorities.

At the end of August, Russia again attacked the Kherson CHP plant of the Naftogaz Group on the night of 27 August. Four guided aerial bombs were dropped on the station at once.

The CHP plant suffered critical damage. As a result of the strike, all heat-generating and power-generating equipment that remained at the plant was completely destroyed and put out of action.
