Ukraine’s agricultural sector continues to operate and export products despite logistical constraints. In particular, 131,000 tonnes of oil were exported in the first 15 days of September — around 62% of the potential volume.
This was reported by Taras Vysotskyi, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food.
According to him, 60,000 tonnes were shipped via Danube ports, 50,000 tonnes by rail and 20,000 tonnes by road.
Vysotskyi added that minimum export prices are set monthly. The coefficient of 0.714 applied in August is planned to be extended for October–December.
Since the start of the year, farmers have managed to secure UAH 115bn in loans, including UAH 49bn under the “5-7-9%” programme. After the ports began to be blocked, the amount totalled UAH 21bn, including UAH 6.3bn under “5-7-9%”.
Vysotskyi also said the World Bank has confirmed its readiness to allocate $250m to compensate interest rates on farmers’ loans under the “5-7-9%” programme.
Another new measure is that a national system for insuring war risks is due to come into operation from January next year. Among other things, it will provide insurance cover for losses of goods and inventory caused by enemy shelling.
Vysotskyi assured that, despite damage to warehouse infrastructure, there is no threat of shortages of basic foodstuffs. Temporary disruptions to the delivery of certain categories of goods are possible, but the supply system continues to function.
