Naftogaz Group has signed a series of strategic initiatives with leading energy companies from Poland, Czechia and Hungary on the sidelines of the Carpathian Eight summit.
The company said so.
The company notes that the agreements are intended to bolster Ukraine’s energy security ahead of the winter season and lay the groundwork for long-term cooperation between countries in the Carpathian region.
“These are important agreements that can strengthen Ukraine ahead of winter and create a foundation for long-term, mutually beneficial cooperation in the oil and gas sector among countries of the Carpathian region,” Naftogaz Group said.
The company stressed that the President of Ukraine’s initiative to establish the Carpathian Eight is already delivering tangible results.
“Together with our partners, we are developing new opportunities to strengthen the energy security of Ukraine and the entire region,” Naftogaz said.
The Carpathian Eight brings together countries in the region to develop cooperation, including in the area of energy security and joint economic initiatives.
- The CARPATHIAN 8 SUMMIT is taking place on 18–20 September in Bukovel and is expected to bring together representatives of Austria, Czechia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Hungary and Ukraine, as well as other participants involved in regional cooperation.
- Among the stated aims of the meeting are coordinating efforts to realise the economic potential of the Carpathian region, increasing its investment appeal, protecting and promoting cultural and natural heritage, and strengthening regional cohesion.
