In Sumy Region, two people were killed and another eight wounded, including a child, as a result of Russian attacks. Russian forces carried out more than 70 strikes on 21 settlements across 13 territorial communities in the region.
This was reported by the Regional Military Administration.
In the Sumy community, an 80-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl were killed as a result of strikes with guided aerial bombs. A 66-year-old man was wounded; a 54-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man were injured; women aged 54, 41 and 27, as well as a 12-year-old girl, were also hurt. A drone wounded a 72-year-old woman. A 25-year-old woman also sought medical help after sustaining injuries on 26 September as a result of a guided aerial bomb strike in the Sumy community.
Over the past day, from the morning of 27 September to the morning of 28 September 2026, Russian forces carried out more than 70 strikes on 21 settlements across 13 territorial communities in the region.
The highest number of strikes was recorded in Sumy and Shostka districts.
Settlements in the Sumy, Myropillya, Yunakivka, Krasnopillya, Bilopillya,
Khotin, Hlukhiv, Shalyhyne, Seredyna-Buda, Znob-Novhorodske, Esman, Novoslobidske and Velyka Pysarivka communities came under Russian fire.
The Russians used artillery, mortars, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs.
Civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed.
In the Sumy community, civilian infrastructure facilities, blocks of flats and private houses, a non-residential building, garage premises, cars and lorries were damaged.
In the Hlukhiv community, a civilian infrastructure facility, a block of flats and non-residential buildings were damaged.
In the Seredyna-Buda community, residential houses were destroyed and a private household was damaged;.
In the Znob-Novhorodske community, residential houses were destroyed and a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged.
