Ukraine’s Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Taras Vysotskyi, speaking at a round-table discussion in Brussels, urged that alternative logistics be made economically affordable for Ukrainian producers.
As the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported, all additional costs of transporting produce currently fall directly on Ukrainian farmers. In Brussels, Vysotskyi said the task for Ukraine and the EU is to create routes that are not only physically accessible but also economically viable.
Ukraine is proposing temporary support mechanisms to cover additional logistics costs, in particular when transporting agricultural produce across the European Union to European ports and export hubs. Such a step will help maintain regular supplies to traditional markets in Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

- Despite this, Taras Vysotskyi, head of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, recently said that Ukraine’s agricultural sector continues to operate and export produce despite logistical constraints. In particular, 131,000 tonnes of oil were exported in the first 15 days of September — around 62% of the potential volume.
