The European Union will provide Ukraine with another tranche of aid in the coming days.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in his evening video address on 29 September.
“I would also like to thank the European Commission — the European Union — today for preparing the decision on the next tranche of financial support. Last week we received €3.3 billion for weapons, and in the coming days we expect more good financial news from Brussels — specifically budget support, another tranche. Thank you. For now, this is within the figures agreed in advance,” the head of state said.
- It recently became known that the EU approved the allocation of almost €3 billion to Ukraine.
- This is the eighth tranche. At the end of July this year, the EU Council approved an updated reform plan under the Ukraine Facility mechanism. This will allow our country to receive €8.3 billion this year to cover state budget needs.
- In addition, EU member states recently agreed the terms for allocating €6.6 billion from the European Peace Facility to support Ukraine.
- According to Ukraine’s Ministry of Finance, in 2027 Ukraine’s need for external financing will reach $52.6 billion.
