At 22:00 on 29 September, specialists will begin technical works due to ongoing Russian attacks on data centres, meaning Kyiv may experience temporary disruptions to certain digital services used to pay fares on public transport.
The technical works are expected to last until around the first half of the day on 30 September, the Kyiv City State Administration reported.
During this period, the Kyiv City State Administration advises residents, where possible, to pay for travel using a bank card.
Passengers planning to buy trips via apps can do so before 22:00. Trips purchased before the works begin will operate as normal. Trips bought during the technical works will temporarily not validate, but they will be saved and become available immediately after the systems are restored, the city administration assured.
- On 29 September, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that during the overnight attack in Kyiv, data and business centres were damaged.
- Earlier, the COSMONOVA data centre said it would no longer operate after the destruction. COSMONOVA says it will provide information about customer equipment that was housed in the data centre where possible.
- On Tuesday, Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi said that due to the shelling, the Cabinet of Ministers has allocated 518.3 million hryvnias from the reserve fund to strengthen the backup digital infrastructure of state bodies.
