Switzerland’s Federal Council has decided to allocate 135 million Swiss francs to fund eight projects by Swiss companies aimed at rebuilding Ukraine.

As stated on the Swiss government’s website, the initiatives cover the energy, public transport and water supply sectors.

The winners were chosen following a competitive selection process among Swiss companies that have branches in Ukraine. The budgets of the submitted initiatives ranged from 3 to 30 million francs, and the companies themselves are required to finance at least 10% of the cost of the work from their own funds. The final list of projects was agreed directly with the Government of Ukraine.

The programme aims to meet Ukraine’s urgent needs through the supply of products and expertise from Switzerland. In addition to restoring infrastructure, the implementation of the projects will help preserve and create new jobs, improve the skills of local specialists and strengthen the partnership between the two countries.
